Our client, a major international corporation based in Zurich, seeks a Global Process Owner (GPO) for Valuation.

This key role involves managing and improving the global fair valuation process, standardizing and aligning it with the company's goals, complying with regulatory standards, and driving ongoing enhancements.

Description

  • Developing and maintaining a global framework for fair valuation processes in line with IFRS 9 and regulatory requirements, collaborating with the Group Accounting function.
  • Enhancing a standardized valuation model across the organization, supporting various stakeholders.
  • Managing the fair valuation process, ensuring accurate mark-to-market valuations and margins.
  • Designing and improving templates for systematic reviews and analyses.
  • Periodically assessing fair valuation models and assumptions to guarantee consistent and appropriate inputs and methodologies.
  • Leading cross-functional projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of fair valuation accounting processes using technological advancements.
  • Serving as the main contact for fair valuation queries, providing support to global finance teams.
  • Collaborating with finance, risk management, and audit teams to integrate fair valuation practices within the global framework.
  • Offering training and supporting on fair valuation to finance teams, promoting continuous learning.

Profile

  • Holds a degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar, with a CPA or CFA preferred.
  • Has at least 8 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, focusing on fair valuation.
  • Experienced with commodities and commodity risk management.
  • Proficient in fair valuation accounting principles under IFRS 9.
  • Project Management or LEAN Six Sigma certification or similar is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of financial markets, derivative instruments, and valuation principles.
  • Skilled in managing commodities and related risks.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Effective team player in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to liaise with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Encourages open communication and idea-sharing within teams.
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.
