Your responsibilities

Are you highly organised, proficient with tools such as Jira, Microsoft Office and documentation servers or data content management systems, and motivated to improve on existing procedures and workflows?

Our BE-CEM team is looking for a Mechatronics Technician who'd like to focused on aspects around documentation, procedures and Jira management for piquet related work.

Within the Beams department (BE) the Controls Electronics and Mechatronics (CEM) group is responsible for the controls and actuation of mechatronics devices that intercept the beam across the full accelerator complex (Beam Intercepting Devices), as well as the development and operation of robots for purposes of inspection, maintenance and repair.

In this position, you will: 

  • Ensure that the document dossiers for our systems are properly created, indexed, updated and published following a dedicated check and approval system central to CERN (EDMS); 
  • Act as the central person, supporting your colleagues with the creation of templates, readability and structure of the documentation as well as the general workflow of the process. 

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

  • Experience with Data content management tools
  • Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechatronics (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants with a Bachelorâ s, Masterâ s or PhD degree are not eligible.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
