In this position, you will work within the Manufacturing and Quality organization reporting to the Product and Supplier Quality Manager organization.


The Material Return Specialist is responsible for handling part/equipment returns. This position requires an accurate documentation of the material flow in order to maintain inventory control.


A mechanical or electro-mechanical background will be preferred.


You will work closely with the Procurement and Warehouse teams to facilitate part returns from suppliers and internal service organization (international).


You will be responsible for verifying that credit notes are received and processed.


Furthermore, you will perform inspections, testing, and sampling procedures for product manufacturing processes to ensure that company standards and regulatory requirements are met.


May support in drafting procedures and assist with troubleshooting or testing methods.


Major Responsibilities



  • Responsible for the handling of Varian Return Material Authorization process


  • Analyze and maintain statistics of returned materials


  • Performs incoming inspections


  • Create Quality Notifications according to process


  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality in analyzing and documenting material failures per Non-Conformance process Performs factory final acceptance testing


  • Participate actively in the Material Review Bord and resulting actions


  • Work with Suppliers to receive adequate repair reports


  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized return area



What you need to bring



  • Completed apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent


  • Experience in regulated domains, such as Medical Devices, or Manufacturing company


  • Good structured problem-solving skills, and ability to address complex problems


  • Ability to work independently


  • Autodidactic skills to quickly familiarize with new areas


  • You are a strong communicator and thrive in an environment of mutual respect, openness, and collaboration


  • You fluently communicate in both German and English
