The Curriculum Director will report into the Head Teachers of both Four-Forest Schools and will have overall responsibility for the taught curriculum and for ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across both campuses. Speaking both German and English is a requirement for this role.
This activity includes the following tasks:
Curriculum Development
• To have oversight of the academic curriculum across all Four-Forest campuses, ensuring that the taught curriculum meets the requirements of the respective cantons.
• To check annual plannings and weekly reviews to ensure that annual planning is adhered to and fits in with the curriculum.
• To have a good working knowledge of the Lehrplan 21.
• To undertake occasional reviews of the curriculum.
Teaching and Learning
• To conduct regular teaching and learning reviews (learning walks, lesson observations) and to support, mentor and coach teachers as required.
• To quality assure teaching and lead on teacher improvement to ensure high quality learning for all students.
• To remain abreast of key movements and thinking in educational provision (particularly relating to bilingualism) sharing and disseminating ideas to teaching staff.
• To use the knowledge of both schools and all the teaching experience our staff has.
Assessment and Tracking
• To track and manage the academic data that is collected on students across the Four-Forest Schools.
• To lead staff development sessions on the effective use of data to support teaching and learning.
• To occasionally present data at Switzerland Cognita MBR (Monthly Business Review) meetings or termly governance meetings.
